Jim
Zumwalt is the senior partner of Zumwalt, Almon & Hayes,
a Nashville law firm concentrating solely in the practice
of music and entertainment law. Jim began the law firm in
Memphis, Tennessee in 1975 after he graduated from the Memphis
State School Of Law. In 1983, Jim opened an office of the
firm in Nashville, Tennessee, and a partnership was formed
with Craig Hayes and Orville Almon, Jr.
Jim’s clients include Creed, Jars of Clay, Big Head
Todd & The Monsters, Courtney Love and The Estate of
Kurt Cobain, Jamie O’Neal, Saliva, Kenny Wayne Shepherd,
Lizzie West, Tommy Sims, Keith Thomas, Tonic and Vertical
Horizon.
His law firm looks after the careers of recording artists
Billy Gilman, Faith Hill, Lonestar, Aaron Neville and The
Neville Brothers, and CeCe Winans.
Jim is a graduate of the Leadership Music Program has served
on the Leadership Music Board Of Directors and as President
of the Leadership Music Alumni Association. He has served
as Chairman of The Nashville Entertainment Association and
chaired the Nashville Extravaganza in 1995 and 1998. He
is a voting member of the National Academy of Recording
Arts and Sciences and has served on its Board of Governors.
Jim is also currently on the Board for the T.J. Martell
Foundation Nashville Division.
